Recommendation
With the high dependence on oil and fossil fuels eating away at the health of the planet such as the issue of global warming, then a change is needed to sustain a reasonable standard of living. Millions of cars are being built each year and although they are getting more fuel efficient and emitting less toxins, the number of cars being driven on the road is always increasing.
Electric vehicles provide a cleaner form of transport, even if powered by coal burning or nuclear power sources, than conventional petrol engined vehicles. With the slow move into greener power generating plants focused on wind and solar, electric vehicles will be the cleanest of vehicles with zero emissions. The cost of running an electric vehicle is also so amazing that you are thinking “why am i still paying for petrol”.
As a company that has built its brand on petrol engined vehicles, it is imperitive that we spend money on the research and development of an electric vehicle. Not for the near future, but the distant future when the electric vehicle market will be in its boom period when demand will be greatest and competition will be low.
For the near future we should really be developing a petrol electric hybrid, as a transition to our long term future goal, this way we can create awareness that we are a company looking to the future of not only the automotive industry, but of the future of the environment. This way we don’t get left behind when the boom of electric vehicles comes and we aren’t prepared with a product, fumbling to create something in little time with herendous disasters.
